4. Do you agree that the Pennsylvania Legislature should continue to significantly increase state funding to increase access for young children in Pennsylvania to high-quality pre-K programs?
__X___ YES _____ NO _____ DON'T KNOW

5. What are the strengths and weaknesses of Pennsylvania's system of funding public education? What should the Pennsylvania Legislature do, if anything, to improve the system of funding public education?
Comments (75 words or less)
The poorest school districts must raise taxes higher to achieve the same result as more affluent districts because local revenue is almost twice as much as state revenue. The additional revenues needed should be collected at the state level and allocated by the state through a formula that is sensitive to the wealth and needs of the districts. I support the Governor's basic education funding proposal as a first step.
6. What is your vision of the public education opportunity that the General Assembly should ensure be available to every child in Pennsylvania and what will you do to accomplish that goal?
Comments (75 words or less)
To ensure that the necessary educational and financial resources identified in the costing out study are available in every school district to support every student. To ensure that the districts with the least local resources receive the most state support per student. As a legislator I will support the plan developed in concert with the Pennsylvania School Funding Campaign.
7. Is there anything else that you will do to strengthen Pennsylvania's public education system?
Comments (75 words or less)
As a member of the Legislature, I will support the Governor's basic education funding program and will commit to the level of funding goals established for future years to fully finance a comprehensive systemic and sustainable education plan by 2013 in accordance with the Pennsylvania School Funding Campaign.
