5/10/2011 – Being a nontraditional student means that I am a bit older than most would expect for an undergrad. Nonetheless, for me, it doesn’t hold as much stigma anymore. Honestly, heading back to school is something a lot of adults have to do. In this day and age, working your way up through industry, matriculating the “school of hard knocks” well, it just doesn’t cut it anymore. State grants help facilitate my attendance at Kutztown University and this chance to improve my life for the long haul. These are need-based grants for me as an independent adult.
