June 26, 2011 – An editorial discussing the refusal of many school districts to agree to a pay freeze and the effect of this on the budget.
“According to the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, teachers in just 67 school districts out of 500 have agreed to a pay freeze. Locally, they include only Central Dauphin, Halifax, Harrisburg and Lower Dauphin in Dauphin County, Lebanon and Elco in Lebanon County. No teachers in Cumberland, Perry or northern York counties have stepped up.”
