CHESTER — The Chester Upland School Board passed a resolution authorizing Solicitor Leo Hackett to execute a settlement agreement that encompasses nine outstanding litigation cases, including the district’s federal lawsuit against the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The board passed the resolution, 6-2, at its meeting Thursday night, though the settlement agreement had been announced in federal court late last month.
The board did not disclose the terms of the settlement, which also includes varying litigation cases between Chester Upland and Chester Community Charter School. The resolution calls for settlement figures to be disclosed to the public once the final agreement is executed.
